We recently out a detailed measure of 55KM of motorway widening.
This included building computer models of the earthworks required to
accommodate a variety of widening solutions which included retaining
walls, earth anchors and simple embankment regrading.
The contractor needed 27 different elements of the earthworks measured
and all of these split into over 100 different zones then once again broken
down by sequences of operation.
As well as detailed schedules we were able to provide mass haul plans,
isopach plans and cross sections supporting the measurement and giving
the contractor visual tools to make the necessary commercial decisions
about types of plant, resources and programming.
